We run various music night though out the week. Here is some more information on the artists and music styles:
The Baroque Band (once heard on Radio 3 and presented by Aled Jones) aims to meet on the 3rd Monday of the month. A collection is made to help the Schools’ Music Service buy much needed instruments. A yearly performance of The Messiah takes place and everyone is welcome. Here you can hear music performed live by some very talented local musicians. David Le Page one of the best acclaimed and well-respected musicians to come out of Guernsey in the last 40 years has been known to drop in and play. Rhiain Taylor mezzo-soprano now performing with Glynebourne Opera. Also, harpist Andrew Lawrence King has frequented his local. Many more local performers have taken up teaching posts here and abroad. Next Baroque: 21st January, 2019 – Choral Event. Performance is from 8.00 p.m. Collection in Aid of The Schools’ Music Service.
Tuesday: Open Mic Night – the starting point for many young local artists (Alex Robertshaw on guitar crowned as the South Bank Arts Awards best breakthrough artist 2011). New talent always welcome from near and afar.
Thursday: Irish Folk Session delivered in the form of an informal session, welcomes musicians and singers in the audience. A variety of folk songs and tunes can be heard from Ireland to France and the British Isles. Dancers always welcome. From 9. p.m.
